On Sunday, the Bollywood superstar tweeted a picture of his chest and abs after a session at the gym, leading his fans to speculate whether he would be treating them to a chiselled look in Raees, a crime drama set in Ahmedabad in the 1980s. The film also stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan as his better half.

The last time King Khan had tweeted a picture of his shirtless look was prior to the release of his 2014 film Happy New Year.

Raees is also expected to star Katrina Kaif in an item number, UK website Media247 speculates.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani informed IBN that the shooting of Raees will be nearly 80 per cent complete by the end of May. The team will then take a break from production during the monsoons as the film requires extensive outdoor shooting. Shooting will resume in September or October in Ahmedabad for the remaining portions.
Director Rahul Dholakia also seems to be very excited about working with Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira.
Very happy today- great stuff by @iamsrk @TheMahiraKhan and brilliantly lit by Mohanan ! #Raees

SRK too is in constant touch with the producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and the actor is taking personal interest in every aspect of the film. He reaches the sets before time and spends some time reading the script and interacting with the crew.
Farhan Akhtar tweeted about his excitement on the day shooting commenced.
On another note.. shoot of the attached film has commenced. Exciting times lie ahead. All the best to crew & cast. pic.twitter.com/2InDW8SQgI
