LG polls prep: Weekly holidays of govt employees cancelled

MARDAN:

The returning officer (RO) for Mardan district has cancelled the weekly off days of all government employees in the district whose services would be needed in the local government polls.

According to a notification issued on Saturday from RO Shahidullah Khan’s office, weekly offs – Saturday and Sunday – of all relevant government employees have been cancelled till May 30, the date of the election.

All employees who are on leave have been directed to ensure their presence in their respective offices as their holidays have also been cancelled till the polls. The notification states that the decision has been taken to ensure that all officials are present if their services are needed by the authorities.
