Two suspects were arrested after owner of a wheat field in Sheikhupura pushed an eight-year-old child in a fire on Saturday after suspecting the boy had started it, Express News reported.

The eight-year-old has been shifted to a hospital in Lahore. As per initial reports, the child is in critical condition.

Sources said four children were playing in the field with a lighter. The owner of the wheat field, named Qayyum, suspecting that one of them set his crop on fire, pushed the child in the blaze in anger.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the child should be given the best treatment.

Pakistani | 8 years ago | Reply CM took the notice and then nothing happen like always. If there was a proper police & judicial system, CM doesn't have to take the notice. Now all patwaris will go over the moon in praise for the CM. While if PML(N) has established a proper system in punjab, the system will take the action and not the showbaz CM for his cheap media publicity. Finally, Mark the words, the criminal will be set free after a few months and all will be fogotten and our showbaz CM will have the cheap publicity he was looking for.
