Export promotion: Delegation assured of mango quality

LAHORE: A group of mango exporters on Friday assured a four-member Chinese delegation that they could arrange best quality mango varieties for export to China. They invited the delegation to visit their orchards and processing units to see the facilities available in the export processing industry of the province. The delegation was also briefed about mango farming in the country. They were told about various mango varieties and their annual production forecasts. They were told that Sindhri, Chaunsa and White Chaunsa varieties were particularly popular for export to other countries. Chen Shee, one of the four members, said that each fruit selected for export to China should be at least 400 gram in weight. He said his company was ready to import around 800 tonnes mangoes per season. The meeting was arranged by the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT).
