The Jhall Khannuana Chowk Underpass and the Canal Expressway projects will be completed by August 14, Faisalabad DCO Noorul Amin Mengal said on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters, he said that a number of projects had been initiated in Faisalabad to provide basic amenities to the people.
“Under the CM’s Rural Roads Programme, all villages in the district will get paved roads over the next three years. We have also planned to complete a 1,000-bed Children’s Hospital by June 30. This hospital will facilitate more than 10 million people of Faisalabad and its adjoining areas,” he said.
He said that a kidney centre would also be built in the city. “The project will be completed within the next couple of months. For this purpose, Rs40 million has been earmarked. We have also acquired approval for the purchase of machinery worth Rs65 million for the centre,” he said.
“A total of 45 new doctors are being recruited to make rural health centres fully functional. Medicines will be provided free of cost to the patients,” he said.
“We have also launched a campaign against adulteration and sale of spurious drugs,” he said.
“Permits of parking contactors who overcharge customers will be cancelled. The sites for establishing new parking stands near the city’s eight bazaars have been identified,” he said.
