Frontier Corps (FC) Commandant Major General Tayyab Azam was the chief guest, while North Sector Commander Brigadier Ziaul Islam and other high ranking military and civilian officials were present.
On the occasion, 195 levies officials, who were trained in different categories such as traffic control, bomb disposal, Quick Response Force, VIP protocol and intelligence, passed the training. FC commandant Major General Azam inspected the march past and distributed medals to those who topped their bomb disposal, physical education, drill and firing training.
He administered oaths to the jawans and praised the sacrifices rendered by FC personnel, khasadars, levies and tribal elders in the fight against militancy. He was confident that militancy would soon be uprooted thanks to their efforts.
The commandant said Mohmand tribal maliks played a pivotal role in eliminating terrorism from the agency. He added the sacrifices of as many as 600 tribal leaders and 100 Mohmand levies and khasadar officials has brought peace to Ghallanai.
He said the nation recognised such sacrifices and would soon eliminate the scourge of terrorism from the country.
Mohmand Agency Political Agent Waqar Ali Khan later told the media that no-go areas have ceased to exist in the agency. He added polio teams were now visiting all parts of the agency which shows peace had been restored.
Visit to Bajaur
Major General Azam also visited Bajaur Agency where he took part in the passing out parade of around 400 scouts who had completed their training. Beside others, North Sector Commander Brigadier Ziaul Islam, Political Agent Mohmand Agency and Bajaur Count Commandant Mir Ameer Ali were present. Also in attendance were a large number of tribal elders.
