Development: ‘PM to inaugurate solar park unit’

He said the rural roads programme and the safe drinking water drive had been launched in Bahawalpur.

“The government is spending billions of rupees on the uplift of south Punjab,” Minister for Cooperatives Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar said on Monday.  He said the prime minister would inaugurate a 100MW unit at Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park next week. He was addressing members of Bahawalpur Bar Association.  Channar said construction of children’s hospital and an eye complex would start soon. He said the rural roads programme and the safe drinking water drive had been launched in Bahawalpur. He said the government was working on a special programme for the uplift of Cholistan. The minister said a drug testing laboratory would be set up in Bahawalpur and an animal sciences university would also be built. He said seven gates of Bahawalpur would be restored.
