BAHAWALPUR:

Three men were accused of poisoning their seven-year-old nephew on Sunday. Police said Zawar Hussain watched over his sister’s son Muhammad Saqib at his house three days ago. They said the child ate some food and fell ill. He was rushed to a hospital where he died. His parents had protested in front of Enayati police station when they did not register a case against Hussain. They also blocked the road near the police station for several hours. The SHO had told newsmen the case would be registered after they received the post mortem report.  On Sunday, on the orders of the DPO a case was registered against Hussain, Munawar Hussain and Tasawar Hussain. The suspects told newsmen that they had been implicated on a false charge.

They said the family had eaten dinner together that night.  “Had the food been poisoned, all the people who ate it should have died,” they said.
