ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat has sought a report from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) managing director on a complaint of an overseas Pakistani regarding poor service and substandard food on a PIA flight from London to Islamabad.

Sources of the Ombudsman office told Express Investigation Cell that an overseas Pakistani Sibtain Ahmed lodged a complaint before the Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis at Federal Ombudsman Secretariat on April 21 in this regard.

According to Ahmed, he travelled from London to Islamabad last month on PIA’s flight PK-785. In his complaint filed to the ombudsman, Ahmed states that the airline served substandard food to the passengers.

Other services on the flight were also very poor, he contended in his complaint. Taking notice over the complaint, the grievance commissioner has sought report from PIA managing director for further action.  Federal Ombudsman has appointed Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokar, as Grievance Commissioner to address the issues of the expatriates related to the federal government ministries.
