The story in Muneefa Abdullah’s book is titled The Snow Princess and the author is positive that Disney is guilty of the copyright breach, reported Detroit News. The lawsuit, filed in US District Court in Michigan, states that Abdullah “has never licensed or otherwise authorised Defendants to copy, distribute or publicly disseminate ‘New Fairy Tales’ or ‘The Snow Princess’, or make derivative works based upon them.”
The Snow Princess is reportedly about “a princess who possesses magical ice powers that give her the ability to turn people and objects into ice,” the lawsuit asserted, adding that the princess went into hiding after unintentionally awakening an evil dangerous witch with her special powers.
The lawsuit states that the princess in Abdullah’s book is comparable to Frozen Princess Elsa who also “has the magical ability to turn people and objects into ice” and accidentally injures her sister with her powers, before isolating herself from others. Beyond being Disney’s top box-office blockbuster, Frozen is the fifth top-grossing film of all time, according to industry tracker Box Office Mojo.
