LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will move court and approach the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on restraining federal and provincial ministers from visiting cantonments ahead of local government elections, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Wednesday. He was addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, along with Punjab Government Spokesman Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri. Rafiq appealed to residents of cantonments to vote for PML-N candidates. He criticised the ECP decision banning the ministers’ visits to the cantonments where elections are scheduled. “This ban violates the ministers’ fundamental rights as citizens,” he said. Rafiq said that the PML-N would prevail in the polls. “The people have confidence in the PML-N. I request voters to judge the performance of the PML-N government,” Rafiq said. He criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders, saying they had no roots among the voters.
