Greenbacks: NAB arrests DFO for illegal assets

There was also an unexplained cash transaction through his and his wife’s bank account

PESHAWAR:


NAB Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa arrested Tariq Khan, a DFO at BPS-18 serving in Kohistan, on Monday for allegedly possessing illegal assets worth millions of rupees.  


A complaint stated Khan had accumulated valuable assets in different areas of Peshawar. The NAB Director General authorised an enquiry into the matter. The investigation revealed that the accused had illegally accumulated one bungalow on University Road, one kanal and 13 marlas of agricultural land on Warsak Road, a two kanal and 18 marla plot in Tehkal Payan, three-kanal plot in Mardan and a 4-marla apartment in at Tehkal Payan.


There was also an unexplained cash transaction through his and his wife’s bank account, worth Rs29.57 million. Additionally, a transaction of $1.10 million has been uncovered in his wife’s bank account.
