JAMRUD: At least five militants were killed in a clash with security forces in the remote Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency early Sunday. According to military officials, a group of militants mounted an attack on the security forces stationed in the Narai Baba area. The security forces repulsed the attack, killing five militants in the ensuing firefight that also left three security officials injured. The injured security officials were immediately airlifted to a military hospital in Peshawar, where doctors said their wounds were not life threatening. The slain militants could not be identified immediately but security officials claimed they were associated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Mangal Bagh’s Lashkar-e-Islam.
