LAHORE:

The Overseas Commission Punjab will appoint focal persons at all international airports in the province to provide guidance to overseas Pakistanis. The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will extend cooperation in this regard.

This was decided during a meeting between Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Civil Aviation Shujaat Azeem and Overseas Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti.

“Focal persons will be appointed at Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan airports with the PIA’s cooperation,” Bhatti said.

Azeem said the PIA and the Civil Aviation Authority would launch a May I Help You service free of cost to help passengers handle their luggage. “The PIA carries bodies of deceased overseas Pakistanis free of cost. Fifty per cent concession is given to attendants [on producing medical certificates] of patients travelling by the national carrier,” he said.
