KARACHI:

A week before the scheduled by-polls, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a press conference at the party's Karachi media cell.

The party's Karachi president, Ali Zaidi, MNA Arif Alvi and MPA Samar Ali Khan wanted discussed different issues, including security for printing presses printing the ballot paper for the by-polls with the media.

According to Zaidi, bogus voters had been registered in the constituency. He said that the party had written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the issue. "During the 2013 general elections, only 47 per cent of the voters were registered," he said. "This time, PTI's polling agents will be present at all polling stations to ensure transparency."

While talking about the party's coalition with the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Zaidi said that they were still discussing the seat adjustment. He added that the PTI will not withdraw its candidate from the by-polls.
