Heinous crime: Two women assaulted

FAISALABAD:

Police said on Sunday that a girl had been assaulted by two men in Saddar area.

Rehmat Ali, an uncle of the victim, said his niece, a resident of Chak 215-RB, was on the way to a bazaar when the suspects had offered her a lift. He said they had driven to a deserted spot instead and raped her. Ali said they had fled after the victim started screaming for help.

The Saddar SHO told The Express Tribune that a police team had been constituted to nab the absconding men. He said further action would be taken in this regard following the receipt of a medico-legal report. Separately, Batala Colony police said a woman had been assaulted by a man in Samundri Road Civil Quarters. Officials said Nadir Khan had fled from the spot after raping the victim. Police said a search had been initiated to nab the absconding the suspect.
