MULTAN: The Bhakkar DCO constituted teams on Saturday to monitor timings of government officials.

A spokesman of the district government said teams were constituted after the DCO received complaints from citizens many officials were absent from work during office hours.

He said DCO Zaman Wattoo constituted an Offices Inspection Team headed by EDO Finance and Planning Muhammad Qasim Siddiqi. Budget and Finance District Officer Muhammad Haseebullah would daily monitor punctuality of officials and their staff at all government offices of the district. He said the team would check hygiene and cleanliness at offices.

He said maintenance of records at government offices would also be checked.

He said the team had been made functional and inspected a number of offices already. He said officials had been asked to ensure attendance at 8am.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Siddiqi said violation of the DCO’s would not be tolerated. He said a monthly report of attendance and timings would be presented to the DCO for review. He said disciplinary action would be taken against those found flouting office timings.

Parvez Amin | 9 years ago | Reply A much needed monitoring system. I hope the CM takes notice and orders it implemented in all government offices. A similar system to report on the work being dealt with would also improve administration greatly. We need to measure the daily volume of work in the office, the percentage that got attended and the one left for next day. Of course it would be great if each day's work were completed on the same day. If this is not happening too often, the reason must be determined and appropriate action taken to facilitate the public.
