Hot Waters: Arrest warrants issued for five cops
The policemen had been summoned to court as prosecution witnesses
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge told the Islampura SHO on Friday to register a case against five policemen and bring them to court on April 24. The policemen had been summoned to court as prosecution witnesses in a murder case but they had not appeared in court despite being issued several notices. The judge directed the SHO to register a case against and submit a copy of the FIR in two days. Separately on April 7, an additional district and sessions judge issued non-bailable arrest warrants for five other policemen and directed the Liaquatabad SHO to arrest them and produce in court on April 18. They, too, were prosecution witnesses in a case but had not appeared in court.
