KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will soon hold a big public meeting in Lyari, which will be attended by the party’s top leadership.

He made this announcement while addressing a press conference at the Archives Complex in Karachi on Friday.

The minister was accompanied by more than 28 district and provincial leaders of different parties who joined the PPP, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Awami National Party, PkMAP  and Pasban, among others.

Sharjeel said that the PPP had begun with its preparations for local government elections across the country, adding that the party would remain neutral in the forthcoming by-polls in Karachi’s NA-246.

He ruled out the impression that the continuing operation against criminal elements in the city was against one party.

Action against illegal encroachments and occupation of amenity plots will also continue, added Sharjeel.
