WAPDA, KRL wrap up tense wins

Defending champions Karachi Research Laboratories (KRL) and Wapda registered tense wins in the Pakistan Premier League to gain three points yesterday.

KRL defeated Afghan FC 1-0 courtesy Muhammad Qasim’s goal in the ninth minute, giving the victors revenge against the Balochistan-based outfit win in the first leg of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Wapda triumphed 2-1 against Baloch FC as they march towards their eighth national title with 59 points in the table.

Zulfiqar Ali Shah scored the first goal for Wapda in the 29th minute when he latched onto a pass from Mehmood Ali. Zulfiqar continued to taunt Baloch FC’s defence and struck his second goal in injury time. Baloch FC pulled one back a minute later through Habibullah, who scored his fourth goal of the event but were not able to score the equaliser.
