Consumer Rights: Notice issued over computer sale

LAHORE: A consumer court issued a notice to a man on Saturday for allegedly selling a defective computer. Petitioner Muhammad Usman has filed a suit against Ashfaq, owner of a computer shop in Hafeez Centre, seeking Rs100,000 in damages. He stated that he had purchased a computer from Ashfaq for Rs15,000. “After a few days, the computer started malfunctioning. I complained to Ashfaq. However, he refused to replace or repair it,” he said. He requested the court to direct the respondent to return what he had paid as well as pay him damages.
