LAHORE:

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) observed the 36th death anniversary of its founding chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on Saturday.

Quran khwani was arranged at PPP’s Model Town secretariat where participants paid rich tributes to Bhutto. Maulana Yousaf Awan, head of the PPP’s Ulema Wing, led the session. Malik Mushtaq Awan, Dewan Mohyuddin, Jehan Ara Wattoo, Abid Siddique, Manzoor Maneka, Lubna Chaudhry and Tahir Ghalib were among those who attended the Quran khwani.

They praised Bhutto for making the country an atomic power, legislating the 1973 Constitution and introducing what they called far reaching reforms to ameliorate the lot of the labourers, farmers, minorities, women and students.
