The continental event will be played from April 7-13 in Beijing where Pakistan will be without Muhammad Majid and Hamza Akbar, who have done well in previous junior events but are over the age limit this year.
Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) official Naved Kapadia will be leading the team.
“Fahim and Amir are very talented players and both can do well at the Asian Junior Championship, while the same cannot be said about Rahim as he will be making his international debut,” Kapadia told The Express Tribune.
“The players will train for three days in the camp before departing for the competition. All of them were training in Lahore before coming to Karachi, so they have had plenty of match practice.”
The PBSA has selected the top three juniors in the country — Fahim being the national junior champion while Rahim finished as runner-up. Amir was selected after his third-place finish.
“Amir is the more experienced player among the three so we’re banking on him to deliver good performances. He is certainly an explosive player in the domestic circuit and hopefully he will be able to carry the same form into the Asian championship.”
