Course over: Bahria Town golf championship conclude

Vice Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Siddique gave away prizes to winners.

ISLAMABAD: The four-day 5th Chairman Bahria Town Open Golf Championship concluded here at the Bahria Garden City’s Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

Vice Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Siddique was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. Cash prizes worth Rs3.2 million were distributed among the winners.

A total of 315 professional players and amateurs participated in the championship. Women golfers from across the country also participated in the event.



Shabir Iqbal was declared winner in the professional category, Mahmud Kayani of the Islamabad Club won in the senior professional category. The trophy of amateur category went to Ghazanfar Rehan of Garden City Golf and Country Club and Brig (retd) Ijaz Ahmed of the same club lifted the senior amateur title.

Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz was also present at the prize distribution ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Admiral Siddique said that he was impressed with the golf courses of Bahria Town.

Siddique, who is president of Pakistan Golf Club, congratulated Bahria Town for holding the championship and promoting the sport.

Vice Chief Executive of Bahria Town Commodore (retd) M Ilyas presented a commemorative shield to Vice Admiral Siddique on behalf of Bahria Town.
