Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday admonished Schools Secretary Abdul Jabbar Shaheen for his long-delayed appearance at the hearing of a contempt petition.
The court had earlier summoned Shaheen three times.
The secretary appeared after a fourth notice had been issued on a petition filed by a teacher seeking action against authorities for failing to implement a court directive regarding his withheld salary and promotion.
The petitioner’s counsel said Shaheen had denied his client the opportunity of a personal hearing in accordance with the court’s order. Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf directed the secretary to submit an explanation on the next hearing.
