After the raid: Five MQM workers’ remand extended
The next hearing of the cases will be held on April 8.
KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday granted a 14-day extension in physical remand of five Muttahida Qaumi Movement workers detained during the March 11 raid at the party headquarters, Nine Zero. Separate cases of possessing illicit weapons and explosives were registered against Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Shakil alias Banarsi, Mehmood Hasan and Muhammad Abid. The FIRs stated that 8mm rifles, submachine guns and Awan bombs were seized from their possession. Besides seeking an extension in the remand, the investigators informed the court about the alleged involvement of Shakil and Amir in acts of targeted killing, who have been implicated in three cases of murder. The next hearing of the cases will be held on April 8.
