MPA Bakht Baidar Khan has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of sabotaging the development process in Malakand division.


At a news conference held at Timergara Press Club on Monday, Bakht Baidar said, “Interference in development schemes in Malakand by JI has posed problems to locals.”

He alleged militants associated with a religious party attacked his house in 2014, adding his brother and six others were killed in the assault.

Criticising the JI chief, Bakht Baidar said, “I casted a vote in the Senate election but did not vote for Sirajul Haq.” He accused Haq of using bogus votes to get to the Upper House of the Parliament.

“JI has always deceived people in the name of religion and has completely failed to address their needs.” Addressing journalists, he expressed his allegiance to his party chief, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, saying he is a loyal member of QWP.

He also appreciated the efforts of Senator Zahid Khan of Awami National Party in development works.

Talking about the upcoming local government polls, Bakht Baidar said his party is ready to take part in the elections and has kept its doors opened for alliances with other parties.
