Heinous crime: Three killed for ‘honour’ in Faisalabad

Three people were shot dead for ‘honour’ on Saturday in Faisalabad.


Faisalabad district police spokesman Muhammad Ramzan said that Ghulam Shabbir, a resident of Chak 167-RB Balloana, had an affair with one of his neighbours. “Her brothers, Bashir, Allah Ditta and Irfan shot her and Shabbir dead on Saturday and fled,” he said.

Separately, Maqsood shot dead Allahyar, a resident of Chak 552-GB. He suspected Allahyar was having an affair with his sister. In another incident, unidentified gunmen shot dead Saqlain Yousuf in Chak 264-RB. On Sunday, two robbers forced their way into farmer Allahyar’s house in Tandlianwala village. They shot him dead when he resisted. In Khurrarianwala, two robbers opened fire and injured Mubasshar Ahmad for resisting. Separately, robbers snatched Rs0.6 million each from Iftikhar Ahmad near Aden Garden and from Abdur Razzaq near Lal Mills Chowk.

Robbers snatched cash, mobile phones and valuables from Sajjad, Aamir, Robi, Adeel, Hafeezur Rehman, Sarfraz, Ghulam Muhayuddin and Ashraf in separate incidents. Robbers forced their way into Irshad’s house in Rehmanpura and looted cash and valuables. Farman was deprived of his mobile phone and cash in Mansoorabad. Robbers snatched bikes, cash and mobile phones from Tariq, a resident of Chak 215-RB, and Riaz, of Chak 203-RB.
