Murder Case: Two sentenced to death

The kidnappers demanded ransom from the family.

PESHAWAR: Two people accused of kidnapping and killing a man were sentenced to death, while their accomplice was sentenced to 14 years in prison by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday. The prosecution told ATC Judge Zafar Khan that Azmat, Usman and Saeed, residents of Hangu district, kidnapped Musharaf from Bacha Khan International Airport in 2013 and had kept him captive near Mattani. The victim’s family filed an FIR after which police started investigating, added the prosecution. The kidnappers demanded ransom from the family. However, when they did not pay the demanded amount, the kidnappers killed Musharaf. The accused were charged under Pakistan Penal Code’s Section 365-A for kidnapping for extortion and Section 302 for murder as well as Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
