Chota Lahor judicial magistrate accepted the bail plea of Adnan Khan, the younger brother of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, on Saturday, following which he was released from jail.
Khan was handed over to the police on a day-long remand on March 20. He had been arrested and presented before the court after University of Swabi Vice Chancellor Dr Noor Jahan complained about his misbehaviour and interference in university matters.
When he was presented before the judicial magistrate on Saturday morning, the court sent him to Swabi Jail.
Later in the day, his counsel submitted a bail application which was accepted against a surety bond of Rs80,000 and two personal bonds.
Dr Jahan was also present during the hearing. Meanwhile, a jirga is yet to broker a reconciliation deal between the two parties.
