PESHAWAR: For the first time ever, the Peshawar police invited the media to witness the handing over of stolen money to its rightful owner at Khan Raziq station. Addressing a news conference, SSP Dr Mian Saeed said some gang robbed a local trader of Rs3.5million besides foreign currency and jewellery. The victim later filed a complaint with the police. The SSP boasted the police not only apprehended the three suspects, but also recovered every single penny. “The main reason for inviting you is to highlight that police not only performed its duty but also handed over the recovered amount.” However, he refused to disclose the identity of the robbers for the purposes of investigation.
