Course material: 29,000 students deprived of books
Peshawar Textbook Board will provide 66,300 textbooks for government-run primary schools in Hangu.
HANGU:
29,000 primary school students of Hangu district are yet to receive free course books promised by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government. The government had earlier announced that the Peshawar Textbook Board will provide 66,300 textbooks for government-run primary schools in Hangu. However, only 37,300 books have so far been dispatched for 2015-16. District Education Officer Iftikhar Ahmad said they have not received the books in question, despite repeated requests sent to EDO. Meanwhile, parents were of the view that the government has failed to reach out to the underprivileged of the province and threatened to take to the streets if action is not taken.
