Abducted: MPA’s uncle released against ransom
Police traced the whereabouts of the kidnappers and laid siege to the compound where Asmatullah was kept.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl MPA Anwar Hayat’s uncle was kidnapped and released against the payment of ransom on Wednesday. According to an official of Ghaznikhel police, Asmatullah Advocate was abducted by unidentified men from within their jurisdiction. Police traced the whereabouts of the kidnappers and laid siege to the compound where Asmatullah was kept. He added the kidnappers refused to release the abductee until ransom was paid and their safe passage was assured. The victim’s family provided Rs1.3 million. Hayat could not be reached for a comment despite repeated attempts.
