Youhanabad lynching: Petition filed in LHC for judicial inquiry

The petitioner requested the court to order a judicial inquiry into the incident

LAHORE: A writ petition was filed on Tuesday in the Lahore High Court (LHC), seeking a judicial inquiry into lynching of two men in Youhanabad. Advocate Saeed Zafar filed the petition, stating that the murders were barbaric and inhumane. “No religion allows its followers to commit such brutality. The incident tarnished the country’s image,” he said. The petitioner requested the court to order a judicial inquiry into the incident.  Meanwhile, Advocate Azhar Siddique filed a petition in the LHC, seeking a judicial inquiry into the suicide attacks on churches in Youhanabad.  Former Pakistan Bar Council vice-chairperson Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari condemned the Youhanabad attacks and the lynching.  Mustafai Lawyers’ Forum also urged the government to immediately arrest those involved in the lynching. A group of lawyers held a protest demonstration at the GPO Chowk on Tuesday and condemned the suicide attacks in Youhanabad.
