Targeted: Policeman killed, another injured

KARACHI: A policeman was killed and another wounded when unidentified assailants opened fire on a police picket at the Banaras flyover in Orangi Town. The victims were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where constable Muhammad Sajid was pronounced dead on arrival, said Orangi Town SP Ali Asif, adding that the critically injured Abdul Qadeer was shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital after receiving emergency first aid. He further said that the Pirabad police had detained eight suspects in a search operation carried out in the area soon after the incident.
