Consumer courts to be set up in six districts

Consumers cannot protect their rights if they are not aware of them

Consumer courts will be set up in six districts, Minster for Trade and Industries Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique said on Sunday.


He was addressing in a seminar on International Day for Consumer Rights.

The new courts will be established in Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Bhawalnagar, Layyah and Raheem Yar Khan.

Consumers cannot protect their rights if they are not aware of them.

He said that the Punjab government was taking steps to deal with price hikes and protect consumer rights.

Amir Zameer, the Consumer Protection Council director, and Mohsin Bhatti addressed the seminar.
