Govt trying to improve living standards: CM

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Monday the provincial government was committed to improving living standards of the masses.


He was talking to Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Marvi Memon. He said the government had launched a number of social welfare programmes.

The chief minister said health and education were top priorities of the government. He said steps had been taken for provision of educational facilities for children from low-income households.

He said the government was implementing development projects in less-developed areas. He said welfare programmes like Daanish School system and Mobile Health Units had also been launched in these areas.

He said more vehicles had been allocated for unemployed youth of the districts of south Punjab under the Self-Employment Scheme.

Memon told the chief minister about the steps being taken for relief for low income families under the Benazir Income Support Programme.

Ambassador of Belarus calls on CM

Ambassador of Republic of Belarus Andrei Ermolovich met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The chief minister said there was vast scope for trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.

He said the two countries should exchange delegations to explore opportunities for cooperation.
