KARACHI: After a two-month-long dispute, the government finally succeeded in removing chief secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiana, who is likely to leave the office within two days. “Siddique Memon, the Pakistan Shipping Corporation chairperson, is expected to replace Hotiana,” said an official. On the other hand, the Sindh government withdrew on Monday its position of defending the home secretary, Abdul Qazi Kabeer, who had been dismissed by the federal government over his involvement in a corruption case. “Qazi has been asked to leave the local government and home department,” said an official in the home department.
