There seems to be no end in sight for Pakistan Cricket Board chief selector's visit to a casino in Brisbane.

The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, said on Monday that Moin Khan should be punished for visiting the casino during the World Cup, Express News reported.

“Gambling is haram and any Muslim taking part in it should be punished,” Yousaf said.

Moin had received severe criticism for visiting the casino right before Pakistan’s match against West Indies although he claimed he had gone to the casino with his wife for dinner.

The board had called the chief selector back to Pakistan and sought a clarification over his visit to the casino.

I can on and on ....
Scanners | 9 years ago | Reply The evidence of his gambling is lacking. Therefore, question of punishment may not arise. Anyway, the PCB Chairman has already "forgiven" Moin after his apology and the "case" is now closed. But the point that is missing in the entire discussion is: Should a team manager as a responsible individual cause himself to be an object of suspicion? No! There must have been other wonderful place for a family dinner. Then why was this place not avoided as a matter of discretion? Officials representing the country, no matter in whatever capacity, should behave themselves in the most dignified manner. For this, all manner of instructions and grooming should be provided by the institution that sends them abroad and entrusts them with important responsibilities. All such official should be made intensively aware that an official visit is not a private affair.
