Pakistan conducts successful test launch of Shaheen-III missile

Pakistan conducted a successful test launch of the Shaheen-III Surface to Surface Ballistic Missile on Monday, which is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 2,750 km, ISPR reported.

The test launch was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system at a maximum range.

The successful launch, with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, was witnessed by senior officers from the strategic plans division, strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organisations.

Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, while congratulating the scientists and engineers on achieving yet another milestone of historic significance, termed it a major step towards strengthening Pakistan's deterrence capability.

He appreciated the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of scientists who contributed wholeheartedly to make the launch a success.

Lt Gen Zubair showed his full confidence over the strategic command and control system and the strategic forces’ capability to safeguard the security of the country against any aggression.

The successful test launch and achievement of this range milestone has also been warmly appreciated by the president and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who both congratulated the scientists and engineers on their achievement.

Some ppl whom I always ignore are not worth even engaging in discussions, I have repeatedly ignored one such attention seeker on many such threads called Zara. dada | 9 years ago | Reply Why does a missile need a missile? Even with thick burkha world knows that Pakistan is a missile of Angloes & now Saudi Barbarian, aimed at India. During cold war it was also aimed at Soviets. Until imperialists and colonizers give rent for this missile in Burkha it will go on developing new missiles with the help of Chinese, the new renter. It seems the missile is alive and now threatening the erstwhile renters.

Even though your threat wasnt directed at me I actually want to know what exactly you are going to do to people who disagree with you? Relax and have a discussion cause thats what this forum is for. I doubt anybody is concerned by threats on the internet and also I doubt you can fire Shaheen III or someother missile on them to shut them up. Plus the language used by @Amish was not really offensive and you used exactly the same language if not worse thereafter. Congrats on the test firstly but Pakistan already has nukes and missiles that can hit every part of India and this is enough of a deterant in my view. Yes you should develop your nuclear technology but all these missile tests seem like they are for public consumption. If you fail to see this as an educated Pakistani then its only your loss. Also failure is part of research and development and India has had its share of failures (probably too many) but will continue to do work on R&D in every field and improve quality where it has been lacking. There is no switch to fix all problems overnight. I appreciate your criticism of things that are wrong in India (some maybe exagerated) cause its something which Im sure every Indian wants to improve. Be positive and take a chill pill. China is already sending them, with low cost. we cant beat them. Pakistan hired chines company back in 2011 i think to send PAKSATIII. Its good we do research in this. for exploration. as for pakistan we also need to test some kick a*s land to satellite missiles Like china did in past.

The notion that India will take over Pakistan is a self defeating prophecy. There is nothing that Pakistan has in terms of natural resources or human resources that India or for that matter any other nation would covet.

Mehreen, iwas reading president and pm had congratulated engineers and scientists. And army was thanking them too. Nescom, ndc, paec all work in collabration with army or per the defence needs of country. I don't know how generals can take credit. Everyone knows , its scientists' brains not army officers. These departments are not army's job. Like india has DRDO .

Anyways, thats good. @Gafoor, if we will allocate the budget which is assinged for defense, to the civilian projects, it will only be pillaged and looted by our political leadership. And i hardly believe it will benefit civilians. And we need defence spending,it is not that huge part of overall budget. Yes indians we know you tested 5000km fire cracker in january. So congratulate the Civilian UnSung heroes of Pakistan that do not take the credit and work for Pakistan. Unfortunately when it comes to Inauguration then Generals are invited and original developers are not credited as Just like Politicians our Generals want to take the whole credit of development.

Since we are only concerned with fighting india we have no use for ICBMs. The Indians OTOH want to fight China and they want to become a global power so they need longer range missiles. Mehran Khan is right. All of this expenditure on missiles is a waste anyway. Chachoo | 9 years ago | Reply Pakistan is in a dire need to develop its own SLV ( Space launch vehicle ). The rockets that are powering those long range missiles could be modified to develop a launch vehicle for Space missions. In Musharraf and Zardari times SUPARCO pushed harder to develop those vehicles but no one was interested that time. It is my request to the current government to start the SLV project again. Any country with a long range missile capability can easily develop those systems. India is developing those indigenous SLVs and now many countries give their business of sending satellites to India. The space industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. The defense industry must be modified to put this technology to civilian use.
