Spring rain: 3 children die as house wall caves in

In Lahore, 22 millimeters of rainfall along with strong gusts of winds and hailstorm was reported in many places.

FAISALABAD/ LAHORE: Three children died on Sunday when a wall of their house in Chak 412 GB collapsed during heavy rain, police said. They were identified as Ali Hasnain, 8, Sheharyar, 7, and Parveen Bibi, 5. The Tandlianwala-Saddar SHO said the house, owned by Muhammad Fazil, was old and dilapidated. He said locals had pulled out the children from under the debris. Many areas in northern Punjab received a rainfall on Sunday resulting in traffic jams and power breakdowns in some places. In Lahore, 22 millimeters of rainfall along with strong gusts of winds and hailstorm was reported in many places. Rainwater on city roads slowed the traffic. Three incidents of motorcycle skidding were reported. The MET Department has predicted isolated downpours and hailstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Sahiwal divisions on Monday (today).
