LAHORE:

A judicial magistrate sent three people on a 14-day judicial remand on Saturday for their alleged involvement in the murder of Abeera, an aspiring model.

Police produced the three, including Izma Rao alias Tooba – the prime suspect, in the court. They said they had completed investigation and seized poison that had been used to murder the girl. They said the suspects had confessed to killing Abeera.

However, Hakeem Zeeshan, one of the suspects, later told the media that he had been wrongly implicated. He said he had not arranged poison for Tooba.

Farooqur Rehman, another suspect, said “I had good relations with Tooba and Abeera. I am not involved in the murder.”

Last week, Tooba had confessed to killing the Lahore-based model by poisoning her yoghurt. Initial forensic reports tended to support poisoning as cause if death.
