SUKKUR: The chairperson of the Shuhada Committee, Allama Maqsood Domki, has lauded the efforts of the Shikarpur Police for having apprehended the suspects behind the deadly suicide attack on Imambargah Karbala Maula in Shikarpur.

Speaking about the alleged terrorists, the Allama said they were a small part of the terrorist network flourishing in the country in general and especially in Shikarpur for decades. He added that the police had extracted valuable information from the arrested suspects and demanded them to take strict action based on the information. "We want indiscriminate action against such elements, no matter what sect they belong to," he said. He also demanded the police to root out the terrorists' training camps and hideouts and unveil the elements, who were funding the terrorist organisations.

For his part, Shikarpur SSP Saqib Ismael Memon told The Express Tribune that since the bomb blast at the imambargah, the police were raiding different places and making arrests, which had led to the arrest of the two terrorists. The suspects had not only provided lodging and boarding to the suicide bomber, but also equipped him with whatever explosives he needed. He added that the police had raided the house of the third absconding suspect, Ali Sher Brohi, on Saturday but had found it empty. The personnel later set the house on fire.
