KARACHI:

Comprehensive security plan has been finalised for the upcoming matches of the Pakistan Super League Season 11 in Karachi, with more than 5,000 personnel to be deployed to maintain peace and ensure safety of teams, spectators and officials.

Under the plan, use of drones in and around the National Bank Stadium, has been prohibited while a detailed traffic management plan has also been devised to maintain smooth flow during the matches.

The security arrangements were reviewed in a high-level coordination meeting held at the Special Security Unit (SSU) headquarters with DIG Security and Emergency Services Division, Dr Maqsood Ahmed in the chair.

Security duties will cover the stadium, Jinnah International Airport, routes, hotels, practice grounds, and other sensitive locations. Sharpshooters will also be positioned at key points.

Authorities emphasised that all available resources will be utilised to ensure the peaceful and successful conduct of the matches.
