LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Mustafabad SHO on a petition filed by a woman seeking a case against her former son-in-law who allegedly threw acid on her daughter’s face. The woman alleged that Muhammad Younas had thrown acid on her daughter to “punish her for not becoming a prostitute”.  Petitioner Razia Bibi said her daughter had married Younas and had two children with him. She said Younas’s father had wanted to develop illicit relations with her daughter. Then her husband started forcing her to become a prostitute, Razia Bibi said. “He threatened to throw acid on her if she refused.” She said her daughter had filed a suit seeking divorce from her husband and the judge ruled in her favour. A few days ago, Younas had attacked her with acid, Razia Bibi said. She said her daughter had suffered burns to her face. She said she had gone to the Mustafabad police but the SHO had refused to register a case against Younas. Razia Bibi asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case.
