False Alarm: Grenade found in AJK school

MUZAFFARABAD: A hand grenade was found inside a government school in Chanari, creating panic among parents and others in the area. According to the police, they were informed by the headmaster of Government Abdullah Haroon Boys High School Gharthama Chanari about the presence of hand grenade on the premises. The grenade was an empty shell but was also missing its pin. It was lying on a staircase in the school. Pakistan Army bomb disposal officials, Civil Defence personnel and the police jointly checked the device and after a brief search of the premises, cleared the school. More than 385 students were present at the time. “An investigation has been started to find the culprits…we have also interrogated the school’s security guard,” police official Rizwan Dar told The Express Tribune.
