
As the targeted operation commenced, LEAs had requested Rs4 billion from the Sindh government for resources to carry out operation. However, no funds have been provided by the Sindh government in the past six months, leading to a halt in operations.

With the operation underway, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has visited Karachi six times.
The Sindh government also announced to raise a counterterrorism force (CTF) for action against against terrorism. The government also referred 57 terrorism cases to the military courts for speedy trial after the implementation of the National Action Plan across the country.

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif also laid emphasis on empowering the police and vowed to go to great lengths to support the ongoing operation in Karachi.
During his visit to the Rangers Headquarters in Karachi last week he the army chief was briefed on the anti-criminal crackdown being carried out by Rangers and other LEAs in Karachi.
