A case was registered against Ali Rohail Asghar after he exchanged harsh words with security guard Muhammad Hussain outside a marriage hall in Garrison Golf and Country Club last night when the latter asked Ali to get his car checked for security reasons and beat him up.
Duty police officer at North Cantonment Police Station – where the case was filed – said the verbal argument turned into a scuffle after which Ali started manhandling the security guard. Police said the club’s administration intervened and later police took action in response to a complaint filed by the security guard.
Hussain – in his complaint – claimed Ali also hurled threats against him during the fight. The MNA son was restrained by the club’s security personnel after the fight and handed over to police that night. An FIR was filed today and Ali was formally arrested.
Police station’s SHO Majid Bashir told The Express Tribune that the accused will be dealt in accordance with the law.
MNA Sheikh Rohail Asghar was elected from NA-124 constituency of Lahore.
Earlier in 2012, a Lahore court had sent Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s son-in-law, Ali Imran, on a 14-day judicial remand in a case regarding the torture of an employee at a bakery in Lahore.
