QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) have seized arms and ammunition during a search operation in the Bonistan area of restive Panjgur district on Sunday. According to an FC Balochistan spokesperson, the operation was launched on the information provided by arrested militants. “There was an exchange of fire between security forces and separatists in the area. However, the insurgents fled leaving behind their weapons,” he stated in a press release. FC seized three sub-machine guns, two Kalashnikovs, two sniper rifles, four 12-bore shotguns, a dozen pistols and other ammunition. These separatists were planning to attack the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) in Panjgur, the FC spokesperson said. The construction wing of FWO is busy in making roads and infrastructure projects for the people of Balochistan. However, some separatist elements have targeted FWO camps in recent past.
