The court had earlier suspended the cancellation notice until a decision was reached in the petition.
IMQ general secretary Muhammad Mustafa had submitted that the purchase of a bulletproof vehicle for IMQ head Tahirul Qadri’s use did not amount to misappropriation of funds. He said Qadri’s life had been in danger ever since he issued an edict against suicide bombings.
The bulletproof vehicle was needed for security, he added. Mustafa said cancellation of registration amounted to political victimisation. He requested the court to declare the cancellation notice void.
